Other telecommunications activities

Under Ministerial Decision No. 229 of 2025, activities involving the provision of access to networks or the transmission of voice, data, or text are classified as Excluded Activities. Forensic auditors will scrutinize the underlying revenue streams to ensure that 'Other telecommunications activities' (ISIC 619) are not being used to mask regulated telecom services which are subject to the standard 9% Corporate Tax rate regardless of Free Zone status.

Audit Red Flag

Recharacterizing prohibited telecommunication service fees as 'Software as a Service (SaaS)' or 'Cloud Hosting' to bypass the Excluded Activity classification.
